DAVE: I’m Dave, I identify myself as male, and I work as a carer in a care home. I’ve known since I was 4. I’ve always wanted to be a boy, so it’s been a long time now. When I was younger, there was nothing around, so I couldn’t do anything about it then. So, I did it now. I went through the stage where I thought I was a lesbian. But I knew I wasn’t, because it wasn’t right for me. If you want something that badly, just do it and go for it. Because, at the end of the day, I’m happier in myself. I am who I am.
DONNA: It takes guts and courage to stand up and say “This is who I am, and I’m going to change me outside, because I’m not happy.” Our lives are that much better because he’s happier in himself. Be brave. There’s always someone out there that’s going to care.
